An open government case sparked by a records request from The San Diego Union-Tribune will play out in a Los Angeles courtroom today, but who’s on whose side?
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power is suing the regionwide water wholesaler Metropolitan Water District, in an effort to keep MWD from releasing records of a drought-busting turf replacement rebate program to the Union-Tribune.
“We support The San Diego Union-Tribune’s position that this is public information,” MWD spokesman Bob Muir told us Monday.
But a memo obtained by U-T Watchdog raises questions about whose side MWD is really on.
